    Queen Mary has a long, proud and distinctive history built on four historic institutions stretching back to 1785 and beyond. Our founding institutions are: St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical College, London Hospital Medical College, Westfield College and Queen Mary College.

    At Queen Mary, you get the safety and security of campus life, while living in one of the most exciting parts of London. Most of our postgraduate students are based in Mile End, which is set alongside the green and peaceful Regent’s Canal. Law students study at Lincoln’s Inn Fields campus, part of London’s historic legal centre. Medicine and Dentistry students are based at our Whitechapel, West Smithfield and Charterhouse Square campuses.’

Entry requirements

Queen Mary University of London has established the following official qualifications for admission to our Postgraduate Taught programmes:

A Bachelor's Degree (minimum 3 years) from selected institutions.

UK 1st class degree: 70% to 80%

UK 2:1 degree: 60% to 70%

UK 2:2 degree: 50% to 60%

Please note that offer conditions may vary depending on the institution from which you are applying. In certain cases, specific grade requirements may apply. For applicants from India, offers may be extended based on the GPA scale. However, it is important to note that we do not consider the Bachelor of Vocation (B. Voc.) as a qualification for entry into our Master's programs.

If you study a Pre-Masters programme, You will need to meet specific requirements to progress onto you Master’s degree programme.

What is the international student fee?
The international student fee varies by programme. Register with us to find out details for your subject.
Yes. All new Postgraduate students joining Queen Mary in September 2024, will be guaranteed accommodation in University halls of residence or with one of our partner providers, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria.
Once you have an unconditional offer that you have firmly accepted then you will become eligible to receive a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) from Queen Mary. You’ll need this to make your visa application.
We accept a range of English language qualifications including IELTS Academic, TOEFL and PTE. Typical IELTS requirements range between 6.0 and 7.0 overall with some component specific requirements. Actual requirements vary by course. Register with us to find out details for your subject.
No. However international students can stay in the UK after successful completion of their studies to work in the UK via the Graduate Route. Postgraduate Taught students who meet the eligibility requirements will stay and work in the UK for 2 years.’
